What is Workers Compensation?
Workers' Compensation is a term used by the State, your employer and your doctor
to describe the process of care to be taken when you are injured at work. This
is much different than an injury from a sport or leisure activity. When you are
injured at work from a fall, lifting or over-exertion, the first step is to
report it to your supervisor. Your human resources department will produce
Workers' Comp papers that you and your employer sign, then bring to our office,
starting a claim with your employer's insurance company. Our doctors are
certified with the bureau of workers compensation to do a comprehensive examination and treatment that is specific to your injuries. We will attempt to treat you so that you may return to work as soon as possible.
Can I change my current doctor?
You may be able to change treating doctors. It depends upon the type of insurance that your employer has and how many other doctors that you have already seen. Because of the complexity of work comp rules you may need assistance with the paperwork. You will also need to have the signature of the doctor to whom you are changing.
If you are not satisfied with your current doctor or care, speak with our staff or one of the doctors to receive information specific to your situation. In most instances you will be able to change doctors.
We offer a no-cost, no-commitment consultation for you to visit our clinic and get a feel for the degree of care you will receive if you decide to use us for your health care, consider it like interviewing the doctor, after all it is your health and only you are responsible for it.
